The Picnic-Mobile gives East Baltimore residents a much needed neutral public space to stimulate ideas and community interactions. It will be available for use by local groups, visiting artists, and social design students and others for various projects geared towards engaging the community.
The Picnic-Mobile will travel the underserved neighborhood of East Baltimore to participate in community life and catalyze new and unusual interactions.
To date, the Picnic-mobile was involved in:
Coffee At The Table – for the neighbors
Barbecue At The Table – healthy cooking demo
People’s Cook At The Table- with performance artist Robert Karimi
Future ____ At The Table actions will include:
Resume Writing, Nail Salon, Arm Wrestling, Lead Testing, Health Education, Build a Bike, Read and Talk At The Table
The GOOD Maker Grant will be used for:
- incidentals for upcoming programs such as materials and printing.
- paint and hardware to modify the Picnic-Mobile for future projects
- maintenance and upkeep of the ‘vehicle’.
